HOW DO WE CHANGE THINGS?
Low levels of government funding is the main reason for poor pay in the early years sector. That’s why SIPTU members are campaigning for increased investment and a Sectoral Employment Order to improve pay and conditons.
Our first SEO pay deal will not deliver the Mercer pay rates, but it will be the first step on the road to recognition. This is the only way to improve pay for our sector – there is no Plan B.
